Genomics/Bioinformatics Scientist

 

Karyosoft LLC, an omics data science startup company, is looking for a full-time Genomics/Bioinformatics Scientist to help improve our leading-edge microbial omics intelligence data management platform. The successful candidate will work in an agile environment to design, develop, support, and deploy major releases of the platform to market. The successful candidate will also work closely with senior leadership and clients to understand the needs and shape the future of our platform. 

    

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • MS/Ph.D. program with 1- or 2-year experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related fields

  • Excellent programming skills in Python

  • Excellent working knowledge of bioinformatics tools and databases

  • Deep knowledge and experience analyzing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), metagenomics and other omics data

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to learn and work independently when necessary

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork mindset

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with web development using JavaScript and Python is a plus

  • Experience with cloud computing in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure

  • Experience with NoSQL databases

  • Skills in other languages (e.g. R)
